MISSING IN AMERICA PROJECT TEXAS
The Missing in America Project (MIAP), a vital initiative dedicated to locating, identifying, and interring the unclaimed cremated remains of American veterans. Through the collaborative efforts of private, state, and federal organizations, we strive to honor those who have served our country by ensuring they receive a dignified final resting place.
MIAP, recognized as a Federal Non-Profit Veterans Organization (EIN: 20-8408832), is committed to the identification, location, verification, and movement of veterans and their dependents. Our mission is to provide respect and recognition to these forgotten heroes who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
Our mission is to honor the memory of our veterans who have served our nation selflessly yet remain unclaimed and forgotten.
The Missing in Action (MIA) Project is dedicated to locating, identifying, and interring the unclaimed cremains of veterans, ensuring that they receive the military burial and recognition they so rightfully deserve. Since its inception in November 2006, this initiative has successfully interred 21 unclaimed veterans with full military honors at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, demonstrating our commitment to honoring their sacrifice.
Recently, a state hospital revealed that there are approximately 3,500 cremains awaiting identification, with an estimated 1,000 of these belonging to veterans. This situation is not unique to one state; it is a national issue requiring our immediate attention.
We aim to reach out to every mortuary and cemetery across the United States to raise awareness about this initiative. It is our responsibility to ensure that these veterans are laid to rest with the honor and respect they deserve. They fought for our freedoms, and it is our turn to serve them.
